Roopali Gupta, M.D.

Health Sciences Clinical Professor

Roopali Gupta, M.D. is Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine. She completed both her internal medicine residency and her fellowship training at University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center. She earned her MD degree (Distinction in Research) at the University of Michigan Medical School.

She is board-certified in geriatric medicine and internal medicine.

Her areas of clinical expertise are ambulatory and primary care, complex medical illnesses, geriatric medicine and medical education.

Dr. Gupta holds a passion for medical education and has been the recipient of regional and national academic teaching awards to further her development as a clinician-educator. She has presented her medical education research nationally. As a professor of medicine, she is involved in training medical students and residents as well as fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Gupta is also Director of the San Diego Imperial Geriatric Education Center (a HRSA-funded Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program).
