  • Dr. Mayra Bugarin

    Dr. Mayra Bugarin

    Mayra Bugarin, MD, a native of Ensenada, Baja California, received her medical degree from the Universidad Autónama de Baja California, Tijuana before completing her residency in Family Medicine as Chief Resident at Family Health Centers of San Diego. She is very excited to be a part of the UCSD Geriatrics program and continue serving the diverse communities of San Diego, especially in the in-home and skilled nursing settings. Her interest in geriatrics grew from an early age while caring for her grandparents in her home in Mexico and has continued through her residency with a particular interest in all-inclusive care and HIV care in older adults. In her spare time, Mayra likes to play with her cats and explore the beaches and coffee shops of San Diego.

  • Dr. Kathryn Dere

    Dr. Kathryn Dere

    Kathryn Dere, MD MBA earned her bachelor’s degree at MIT and completed medical school at University of South Florida and residency in the Primary Care Track and Cleveland Clinic. She is so excited to return to California and complete her training! She enjoys being in both the outpatient and nursing home settings, and has special interests in dementia care and innovations in healthcare delivery systems. In her spare time, Kathryn can be found cooking, exploring art museums, and trying to regain some of the musical skills she had in high school.

  • Dr. Jennifer Kim

    Dr. Jennifer Kim

    Jenn Kim, MD is an east coast transplant originally from Baltimore, MD, where she was born and raised. She completed her medical school training at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University followed by Family Medicine Residency as a Chief Resident at University of California, Irvine. Her interest in the field began in college at Cornell University, where she received her bachelor's degree in human development with a minor in gerontology. She looks forward to broadening her experience in both inpatient and outpatient geriatrics, learning more about home based care, and continuing to work with the underserved. In her spare time, you can usually find Jenn somewhere outdoors - hiking, biking, surfing, snowboarding, anything that involves frolicking in the sun or climbing to high places!
